CHURCH COVENANT

By the grace of God, having been repented and believed in our Lord Jesus Christ (Eph. 2:8), having been baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit (Matt. 28:19), we affirmed our covenant with one another.

 

1. We will work and pray for the unity in our church
(Rom. 12:4-8; Eph. 4:3-6; Phil. 2:2)

2. We will love one another by building (investing in) one another (Heb. 13:1-3; 1 Thess. 5:11,14), by bearing patiently one another’s burden (Rom. 12:9-16; Gal. 6:2), and watchfulness over each other and by praying for one another (Eph. 5:18).

3. We will humbly and gently bear with one another (Ephesians 4:2; Colossians 3:12-13) and forgive one another (Matthew 18:15-20; Luke 17:3-4).

4. We will regularly gather together (Hebrews 16;25; Acts 2:42) to hear the Gospel proclaimed, to fellowship with one another, to pray for one another, and to participate in the Church Ordinances (Baptism and Lord’s Supper) (Acts 2:38; 1 Cor 11:26; Matt 18:17).

5. We will live a Gospel-centered life (2 Cor 5:15) as we pursue holiness (Hebrews 12:14) while denying worldly passions, all ungodliness, the devil, and his schemes (Eph 2:1-3; 1 John 2:13-17).

6. We will seek to regularly remind ourselves and one another of the Gospel (Acts 20:20-21; 1 Cor 2:1-2), and to proclaim the Gospel to others (Matt 28:18-20) in word and deed (Matt 5:13-16).

7. We will work together for the continuance of a faithful evangelical ministry in this church, as we sustain its worship (Ex. 20: 2-6; 1 Chronicles 16: 28-31; John 4:24; Romans 12: 1-2), ordinances (Matt. 28:19; Luke 22:19-20; 1 Cor. 11: 27-32), discipline (Matt. 18:15-17), and doctrines (Jude 1:3).

8. We will give regularly (1 Cor. 16:2), generously (Luke 21:4), and cheerfully (2 Cor 9:7) for the cause of the Gospel and missions (1 Tim 5:17).

9. We will seek membership in another Gospel-preaching church when we move away from this church (Rom 16:1-2).

May the Grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God the Father, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all. Amen (2 Cor 13:14).
