As a church, we are committed to being led by a plurality of elders, in accordance with the pattern set forth in Scripture. We are prayerfully striving toward this biblical model of leadership. An elder is recognized by the congregation as a man who meets the qualifications outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1–7 and Titus 1:6–9, and who faithfully leads through the ministry of the Word, prayer, and the oversight of the church’s spiritual and practical affairs. While elders are entrusted with shepherding the flock, the final authority under Christ rests with the congregation, as affirmed in Matthew 18:15–20.
